Postdoctoral Position in TBI/Neuroimaging
A full-time, NIH-funded postdoctoral fellowship position under the direction of Dr. Eve Valera is available at Harvard Medical School / Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) for studies examining the effects of traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) in women who have experienced intimate-partner violence (IPV). Studies will use neuroimaging (i.e., functional, structural, diffusion, and MRS imaging), blood-based biomarker, cognitive, and psychological measures to examine the effects of partner-violence related TBIs on women’s health. The fellow will be involved in all aspects of the projects including data collection, analysis, and manuscript writing, and will interact with a range of faculty co-investigators from other institutions on the project. Fellows will also be encouraged to initiate and carry out their own relevant projects and apply for relevant grant support.
Applicants should have one or more of the following skills/experiences: 1) strong experience with imaging analysis; 2) programming and strong statistical analysis experience; 3) knowledge and interest in TBIs. The successful applicant will have a strong aptitude for writing manuscripts and grant applications, experience with clinical populations and excellent oral and written English communication skills.
Work will take place at the Athinoula A. Martinos Center at MGH (COVID permitting). The Center is a vibrant community of approximately 120 faculty members and over 100 postdoctoral research fellows and graduate students studying a range of neuroscientific topics.
