Aylin Tanriverdi
Aylin is a junior at Harvard College studying neuroscience and chemistry. She researches the effects of brain injury and psychological abuse on cognitive function in women who have experienced partner violence. She has experience screening prospective research participants, conducting trauma-informed interviews with participants on their history of abuse and head trauma, administering online neurocognitive assessments and balance tests, and assisting with MRI scans and blood processing during in-person study visits. She is passionate about creating a safe space for women to share their story by listening to them with empathy, sensitivity, and compassion. Outside of the lab, she runs a Harvard undergraduate student organization dedicated to providing social support for individuals with brain injury in the community. She also enjoys figure skating, playing guitar, and spending time outside.
